Automated Invoicing

This small business was invoicing hundreds of customers monthly, by manually entering data into Sage Line 50 from system reports. The process was time-consuming, error-prone and resulted in problems and lost revenue.

By creating custom reports and using third-party software, our engineer was able to create a process which fully automated the data-entry process reducing errors and complaints, and saving hours of work.

Later, the company wanted to automate the sending invoices to our clients, in order to reduce the time required for invoicing and get the money in earlier.

Our engineer used a combination of technologies, including the Sage ODBC driver, and a template based system to generate PDF invoices, together with Outlook macros to generate the emails. Now all the accounts team have to do is make any necessary amendments for special cases before sending all the emails.
